In English, “Filipino Family”.  This site is dedicated to inspiring Filipinos to look into their roots.  In the spirit of sharing best practices, this site offers articles, resources, biographies and photos that may tool and inspire enthusiasts to embrace genealogy with scholarly diligence.  Here’s what you can find on this site:

Articles. An assortment of interesting write-ups on prominent Filipino personalities, which highlights family history and lineage.

Bios. Biographies are available for many individuals.  These were written and edited by Aming Angkan or contributed by family members.  It is our policy to write primarily about deceased individuals — the exception would be public figures who already have a lot of data about them on the Internet.

Book IndexAngkang Pilipino indexes Filipiniana books for names of individuals, their life and their families.  The name of the book and the pages  on which these names appear are indicated for the reference of future on-line researchers.  As this is a Herculean effort, volunteers are welcome.

Resources.  We have written various articles on subjects that would help individuals research their Filipino family history and lineage.

Surnames.  Here is a list of Filipino Families and links to where you can find more information about them.  Also included is a list of personal genealogy sites of note.

This site is maintained by Mona Magno-Veluz who has been documenting her lineage and family history since 2001.  Her personal research can be found on Aming Angkan. She volunteers as a curator for Filipino families on Geni.
