Aguinaldo’s Navy

25 May 2011

“Aguinaldo’s Navy” American Mutoscope and Biograph (1900) was filmed by Raymond Ackerman, a notable American military photographer and videographer who captured life in the Philippines at the turn of the 20th century. This clip, which does not have audio, was filmed along Pasig River on 18 February 1900 and shows off boats busily running the length of the river. This was filmed while the Philippine American War was on-going and the title alludes to the clip having been created for purposes of reconnaissance of Filipino forces.
