Pinoy Politicians 2010

So, which Pinoy politicians are related?  This question is a laughable genealogical challenge, considering how, for eons, our nation’s political arena has been dominated by a handful of families.  Still, let’s look at some adversaries and bedfellows, who all happen to emerge from the same murky, incestuous, gene pool that is Philippine politics.

Noy-GiboDuring the national elections this year, scions of political dynasties headlined.  Noynoy Aquino, the standard bearer for the Liberal Party, is the second cousin of the Administration candidate for the same post, Gibo Teodoro.  They are separated by 6 genealogical steps.  Melecio Estrella Cojuanco is a shared ancestor.

Gibo-EduGibo Teodoro is also the first cousin once removed of the husband of the paternal first cousin of Edu Manzano — his running mate.  Ten genealogical steps separate the Lakas Kampi CMD’s candidates for the country’s top posts in the 2010 race.
